Certain music just puts me in the mood to write certain characters. For The Moon Rises, I tapped into the beautiful voices of legends Nina Simone and Crystal Gayle. Gigi is a character who doesn't enjoy loud music. She finds comfort in these soothing melodies.

As amazing as Nina Simone and Crystal Gayle are, the artist whose song helped create Gigi was none other than Fiona Apple. The song Extrodinary Machine instantly puts me in the mood for Gigi. It's a little awkward, yet upbeat. Just like Gigi.

Blood Tide Playlist

Certain music just puts me in the mood to write certain characters. For Blood Tide, the sisters grew up with their dad's taste in older rock. Mac Tiernan even named his shadow warrior moves after his favorite rock songs. As such, here are the songs I turned to when writing Paloma and Willow.

Certain music just puts me in the mood to write certain characters.  For Blue Sacrifice, I searched for music full of melancholy to match the emotional state of Blue, a girl asked to sacrifice herself for her town. For the more romantic aspects, I turned to Susan Boyle (don't judge!) who is a favorite of our Irish playboy Flynn O'Shea.
